Trend Alert: MILITARY

(sources: AroundLucia&Lookbook)
Think camouflage, studs and tomboy shapes...the military trend is back this season! Stronger better and bolder and as a result I am hooked!! It works with any look, try the distressed denim, slouchy vest and military jacket for a relaxed approach or for a touch of 'feminine' rock military print with delicate fabrics for that 'pretty military' look! x

Peplum Trend Alert!

This Spring/Summer hottest trend is the Peplum. This super-elegant, waist-nipping and tummy hiding trend is a favourite with many designers and a hit on the highstreet! Not only does it look gorgeous but this very feminine trend really is a girl's best friend, adding and removing in all the right areas, consider it your figures new best friend! For the best highstreet designs, I suggest H&M and ZARA, both offer a selection of styles from tops, to skirts to dresses with the all important affordable price tag!

Newest addition to my shoe wish list. Solestruck!! X

Floral Bottoms

I've been meaning to create a blog post about this trend for weeks now so here it is. This style is big right now from designer to high street, whether it be on the street, in the magazines or on clebrities this trend has hit us hard. I myself am a bit of a plain Jane when it comes to my clothing, opting for basic vests, t-shirts, trousers etc but this trend has converted me (for the mean time anyway!!) The good thing about these floral bottoms is that you can wear them in various different ways, if your brave enough try mixing and matching florals, however, if like me that idea sounds just a tad daunting simply throw on a plain white t-shirt with some floral bottoms teamed with a blazer and heels and your good to go. Its a trend which is here to stay for the duration of the summer and one which is accessible to all budgets! X

K-Brat AW 2012-13

A while back I assisted stylist Alexandra Greenhill on this amazing lookbook shoot for K-Brat and I must say I was left in owe by the amazing garments, the structure, the fit, the materials, it all  just worked so well together and looked beautiful on the female silhouette. My favourite piece from the collection however, is the cream coat, which I fell in love with..the mixture of cream wool and striking black leather was to die for, simply perfection!!
K-Brat is a London based womenswear and accessories label founded in 2008 by fashion designer Keren Brat. After graduating from the London College of Fashion, Keren went on to work with a few London based designers before going onto start her own label.

This Autumn/Winter 2012-2013 collection-titled ‘The Sinister Crawl’ was inspired by the study of insects. The collection silhouettes, structures, pattern lines, volume and details demonstrate those of the world of bugs and beetles. The collection focuses on leisure day and night womenswear styles, combining sculpture-like pieces with high-quality, soft separates and outerwear. The garments are made up of many different fabrics such as nest wools and silks matched with contrasting man-made fabrics and brass fastenings along with the strong use of leather, this fabric combination results in an intriguing and exciting mixture of textures.  As you can see above the colour palette for this collection is a mix of black, greys and creams with hints of yellows.

Noritaka Tatehana

Just couldn't ressist blogging about these beautiful creations by Tokyo-based designer Noritaka Tatehana. He has taken the fashion world by storm, appearing on various fashion runways, publications such as Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone and not forgetting on the feet of the one and only Lady Gaga! It's a case of go hard or go home with these and the fact that my feet hurt just looking at them joint with the £2,000-£5,000 price tag means...i'll be going home!! Luckily, just looking at them makes me happy! X
