What is most striking about Gareth Pugh's collections are his dramatic designs which time after time wow fashion followers all over the world and his Spring/Summer 2012 ready to wear collection, shown above, lives up to all expectations. In typical Pugh fashion this sci-fi inspired collection consisting of cage dresses, coats, vests, bottoms and shoes was delivered using a strict colour palette of black and white. These models looked fierce in their amor-like looks, and those boots....trooperrrr!!!

H&M Conscious launches an Exclusive Glamour Collection
For fashion lovers, the red carpet has become as exciting as the catwalk, with celebrity gowns now creating their very own trends. As part of its Conscious initiative, H&M has created an exclusive collection of red-carpet looks, all made from more sustainable materials such as organic cotton and hemp as well as recycled polyester. The collection showcases the diversity of what is now possible in greener fashion, with outfits in different styles reflecting the variety of today’s red carpet fashion.
Exclusive Conscious collection will be available from April 12 in around 100 stores H&M worldwide, as well as selected looks on-line
Avant Apparell
I saw a few pictures and read a few blog posts about Johannesburg Fashion Week and this collection caught my eye! I couldn’t believe it, but Avant Apparel launched their debut collection just this year and by the look of it they will be sticking around for a long time. This brand is powered by duo Lauren du Plessis and Bailey Alison and it seems like these two are a match made in heaven. The collection is described by the designers as graphic, boxy, linear, uncomplicated and clean with a colour palette of soft nudes contrasted with stark blacks. Definitely up there with some of the collections seen during London, Paris and New York Fashion week. Spread the word people because this brand is BIG!!
